MISSION STATEMENT

Right To Hike, Inc. is dedicated to celebrating the life of our friend, Meredith Hope Emerson through raising funds and awareness for causes close to Meredith's heart.  We hope to honor her memory by sharing her courage, love of the outdoors and belief that all people have the right to live without fear.

Welcome To Right To Hike, Inc.

In celebrating the life of Meredith Hope Emerson, friends and family have founded Right to Hike, Inc., a non-profit organization that plans to support causes that were close to Meredith's heart, including hiking safety.  Funds will be donated to provide hikers and outposts with GPS transmitting devices that will allow hikers to send signals to emergency personnel when in distress.  Meredith had a love for the outdoors and we hope to continue this message, while encouraging safe travels.

Meredith Hope Emerson Memorial Scholarship

A portion of the funds raised by Right to Hike, Inc. will be presented to THE MEREDITH HOPE EMERSON MEMORIAL AWARD FOR STUDY ABROAD that has been created by The University of Georgia. Meredith studied abroad in France in 2004 and the experience profoundly changed her life. This award promises to give other students the same opportunity. Right to Hike Inc. also plans to support other educational programs and scholarships that may be presented.

Right to Hike, Inc. would like to congratulate Jennifer Pharr Davis who just completed the entire 2,175-miles of the Appalachian Trail in 57 days, 8 hours and 35 minutes — 30 days faster than any other woman. Her journey was inspired by Meredith. For her entire story please click the link below.
